Premier League: Zaha and Aguero, the goalden boys…

The first game of the Premier League weekend sees Crystal Palace host Brighton at Selhurst Park.

Palace are on a roll at the moment. Their tally of 11 points over the last six games has only been beaten by the Manchester clubs and Arsenal, winning six and losing just one of their last nine home fixtures in all competitions.

Now it’s true Brighton won last weekend, but that victory over Huddersfield was their first league win of 2019.

We’ll take Palace to continue their good run, particularly as Wilfred Zaha is in such cracking form. The forward/winger has scored five goals in his last six games, and also seems to have a liking for playing Brighton. We can get 2/1 that he scores anytime during the game, which seems a good price, but we’ll take a punt with the 12/1 on offer that he nets twice.

The late game sees Manchester City host Watford, looking for three points to cement their lead at the top of the table.

The visitors have managed three wins from their last four league games, so are clearly in form. But they seem to have difficulties against the elite Premier League clubs, as they have lost their last 12 against the so-called top six. Watford folded 5-0 when they went to Anfield a couple of weeks ago, and the fear is that something similar will happen today.

On top of this they will likely be facing a striker that seems to get very excited whenever they arrive in town. Sergio Aguero has scored 10 goals in six games against Watford, including two hat tricks. We’ll take the 11/1 on offer that he scores another.

Crystal Palace/Brighton: Zaha to score twice, 1 pt, at 12/1, Ladbrokes

Man City/Watford: Aguero to score a hat trick, 1 pt, at 11/1, SkyBet
