Champions League: Score draw to benefit Liverpool…

Tonight sees a cracking tie in the Champions League, as Liverpool travel to Germany to take on Bayern Munich.

This tie reminds those of us of a certain vintage of the last time these two teams met in Europe’s top competition in 1981, then called the European Cup. As now, Liverpool were held goalless from the home leg, before drawing 1-1 in Munich to progress.

It’s difficult to call this match, but an opening goal to either side would give the other incentive to press forward. We’ll hope that history repeats itself, and go for a 1-1 draw, meaning Liverpool progress due to away goals.

Recommendations: A 1-1 draw as correct score, 1 pt, at 6/1, Paddy Power
