Friday Yankee: Hurricane alert !!

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Hurricane Dylan, (1600 Newbury), 1pt win, 6/1 generally available

Favourites Air Navigator (possibly soft in a finish) and Turtle Wars (stamina doubts) look worth taking on, and Hurricane Dylan’s form since going chasing looks rock solid. Dropped a pound for a 3rd of 5 when favourite at Taunton last time – that looks generous as he was a bit unlucky and that may yet prove to be a decent little race for that track.

Avantgardist, (1450 Newbury), 4/1:  a race where every runner has plenty to prove.  In Avantgardist’s case it’s whether he can continue to progress at an unproven 3m trip.  He was excellent stepped up to 2m5f in soft at Warwick, and we think it’s a chance worth taking that the 3m here on Good to Soft will still be within his range.

Goodnitesweetheart, (1525 Newbury), 7/2:  jockey Noel Fehily retires tomorrow and looks to have been given some choice rides to sign off in style, his ride in the bumper looks a little short in the market, but this, his only other ride today, continues to look potential value.  In form, proven at the trip and sure to be trying her heart out to give Fehily a proper send off.

Nube Negra, (1630 Newbury), 5/2:  runs off a pound lower than when placed in the Fred Winter at last year’s Cheltenham festival.  Has been in top races since with little luck and was brought down last time  when likely to place in strong company at Taunton.  Could have made the festival off this mark, or been kept fresh for Aintree, so looks significant that the trainer drops him in class here, hopefully for a confidence boost and to put a 1 on the board.
