It’s Monday, turn the page on a fresh week, and let’s never hear mention of last week ever again!!

NAP OF THE DAY: Call Me Grumpy, (1500 Lingfield), 1pt win, 5/2 generally available
This Roger Varain trained handicapper is wonderfully named. Hopefully there will be no cause for grumpiness today after suffering a couple of near misses on return from injury this winter. Jockey Atzeni will have learned plenty from a close third at Kempton last time and he is well drawn to stalk the pace tucked in the pocket before dashing home off the final bend- there’s the plan Andrea – over to you….
Opening Batsmen, (1515 Wincanton), 10/3: been around a while now and runs this track well. Looks like he could get his way on the pace, and his jumping could put pressure on the novice favourite here. Hasn’t quite lasted home here the last twice but he is 4lbs lower again and this looks weaker.
Music Man, (1530 Lingfield), 6/1: this 2m race is a rematch between several who have been running against each other all winter. If there is one with untapped potential it could be Music Man. Off the track for two and a half years before a recent comeback for new trainer Hughie Morrison. That was an excellent effort considering the lay-off and Morrison is an expert at revitalising these types. If he comes on for that run he could be deadly.
Not So Sleepy, (1615 Wincanton), 11/4: it’s always dangerous opposing a Paul Nicholls favourite, especially here, but unbeaten mare Miranda looks a bit short, and that means useful flat recruit Not So Sleepy is a backable price. He won really well here last time and his flat rating of 97 suggests he is well in here at a track that ex-flat types tend to do well at.
