Friday Yankee: Aguero hat-trick?

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Aguerooo, (1430 Lingfield), 1pt win, 15/2 generally available

Plenty of fantasy footballers will be banking on Aguero scoring this weekend, but the equine version, named after Martin Tyler’s famous commentary, could be worth captaining too.  He has run two blinders in victory here, and was unlucky when pipped a short head at Wolves last time.  They were races run at a strong gallop that suits his hold up style. Lots of pace in here, that should set things up nicely for Agueroo to land his course hat-trick.

Falcon Sun, (1525 Wetherby), 5/2:  fell when going nicely in a much better race than this at Newbury last time.  That was 3 out, near enough to the end to know he was going to go close, but far enough away that the handicapper can’t really respond.  Hence runs off 120 again in this lower class and should win for his bang-in-form stable.

Flowery, (1555 Wetherby), 2/1:  has been hiked up a sturdy 10lbs for scooting home at Sedgefield last time.  Had been on a roll over hurdles before that.  The big rise at least raises enough doubts to keep the odds honest, but this isn’t the strongest race and he looks progressive enough for his new stable to think he can land another win before he hits his ceiling.

Nevada, (1755 Newcastle), 3/1: has been runner up here the last twice, pipped on the first occasion when miles clear of the rest and narrowly held by today’s rival Echo last time.  Nevada was just caught out of position there when the race developed and stayed on nicely.  With a 3lb pull and a more shrewd tactical ride he can reverse that form and record a well earned win.
