Sunday Football: Arsenal’s away amusement…

There are a couple of live football games on today, the first of which is a Premier League clash between Everton and Arsenal.

The Gunners have done well to push themselves into contention for a Champions League place next season, but they have done so largely on the basis of their home form. Away from home they have amassed just 19 points from 14 games, and are the only Premier League team without an away clean sheet this season.

With five away games from their last seven the Gunners will have to overcome this poor return to qualify for Europe’s main competition. And where better to start than against a team they generally hold the wood over. Arsenal have won the last four Premier League games, and their 97 wins in this fixture is a league record for one side against another.

Everton have shown signs of life recently, including beating Chelsea the last time at home, but we’ll take Arsenal to edge this game 2-1.

The next game is the second FA Cup semifinal between Watford and Wolves for the right to meet Manchester City in the final.

It’s difficult to separate these two, the best two in the Premier League outside of the ‘big six’. Wolves are just one point ahead in the league and have scored one more goal.

But Watford won the league clash 2-0 in October, and it’s this that we will use to influence our call. Abdoulaye Doucoure has scored in his last two games and he’s a nice price to net for Watford today.

Everton/Arsenal: Arsenal to win 2-1, 1 pt, at 9/1, bet365

Watford/Wolves: Doucoure to score anytime, 1 pt, at 13/2, Paddy Power
