Sunday Yankee: The Cotton is high….

Two more winners to finish a good Aintree although a serious error at the wrong time was enough to stop Rathvinden giving the mighty Tiger Roll any race in the big one.  More mundane farE today…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:  Cottonvale, (1400 Ffos Las), 1pt win, 6/1 generally available

Has been knocking on the door of late, probably being set to win when falling at the last, then a decent 2nd to a well handicapped horse here next time when 13l clear of the rest, before tipping up again last time.  Obviously comes with risks attached but is surely on a running mark and we know he handles this tough course in the mud.

Vicenzo Mio, (1505 Ffos Las), 5/1:  has yet to break his duck over fences but has generally been contesting much better races than this.  His second of 4 at Plumpton last time was to a potentially well in rival, and best of all, we know he handles this track and conditions having been narrowly beaten in this race last year.  Nothing beats course form at Ffos Las.

Jabulani, (1610 Ffos Las), 7/2:  had started to look like an unfulfilled promise until finally stepped to 3m and registering a decent win at Newbury.  A couple of those behind have won since, and a 5lb rise hardly looks too harsh.  Can go on the rampage now that he has the confidence of the win

Mr Love, (1645 Ffos Las), 15/2:    a trappy handicap and a trip that will take some getting late on a heavy ground card. Browndodd is an obvious threat but lacks experience. He holds Mr Love on Huntingdon form, but we think that rival can reverse the form on this wetter ground and at the revised rates.
