Premier League: Eriksen to step up…

There are s coupled of televised Premier League games to savour today, both involving Champions League-qualified teams playing at home.

The early game sees Tottenham host Huddersfield at their new stadium.

Spurs come into the game fresh off their victory over Manchester City in the Champions League midweek. They will have to stave off complacency and adapt to the absence of star striker Harry Kane. But they should still have too much for a team that has won only three times this season.

With Kane missing, Spurs will have to rely upon their other senior players to step up. One of those is Christian Eriksen. Paddy Power offers an enhanced 4/1 that he has st least two shots on target. We’ll try that.

The second game sees Manchester United take on West Ham at Old Trafford.

The home team had a different experience in the Champions League midweek, losing to Barcelona. This continues a poor recent run of four defeats in five games, dropping Man United back to sixth in the league. They desperately need the points to challenge for a return to Champions League football next season, and should get all three this evening given the paucity of West Ham on their travels.

Striker Romelu Lukaku has scored in five successive home league fixtures against West Ham. He’s odds on to score anytime today, so we’ll take the 7/2 on offer that he scores first.

Recommendations:

Tottenham/Huddersfield: Eriksen to have at least two shots on target, 1 pt, at 4/1, Paddy Power

Man United/West Ham: Lukaku to score first, 1 pt, at 7/2, Paddy Power
