The Daily Yankee:
NAP OF THE DAY: Sundiata, (1450 Ripon), 1pt win, 11/4 generally available
We love a rail drawn trailblazer on the Ripon straight course. Sundiata has the draw, albeit has been held up in races to date. Jockey Kingscote may choose to press on this time to exploit the draw but even if held up, this progressive filly may still have enough on hand to collect.
Kupa River, (1525 Ripon), 3/1: showed little in a busy 2018, but since the turn of the year has figures of 2211. Likes to race prominently and has that rail draw. Is only up 7lbs for that good run of form as the two wins have come by the narrowest margins, but can win again with such favourable circumstances.
Beringer, (1535 Newmarket), 5/2: our pick for the Lincoln he travelled really well there and came through strongly for third albeit with no chance against the classy winner. No obvious threats of that calibre here and very noticeable that his shrewd trainer steered clear of the softer ground in the standard follow up race at Newbury, waiting instead for this chance under more suitable conditions.
Bowson Fred, (1745 Ripon), 5/1: for a front running Northern sprinter he has been surprisingly absent from this track with just one run for fourth. Showed signs of hitting form when runner up last time on the all weather and now looks perfectly drawn to attack on a course that rewards aggression.
