The PGA Tour heads to Texas this with, with the Trinity Forest Golf Club bear Dallas hosting the AT&T Bryon Nelson Championship.
The field has been short of some of the game’s elite due to this tournament’s proximity to next week’s US PGA Championship, so favourite is world no. 3 Brooks Koepka.
He must have a great chance of winning thus week, but of his five victories on the PGA Tour three have been majors. This suggests that he has become very proficient in honing his game for the right moment and we’re worried that he will be more concerned about next week that this one.
Instead we’re going to use last year’s tournament as guidance, and side with both the winner and runner up.
Aaron Wise won this event last year, his inaugural win on the PGA Tour, helping him to be named 2018 Rookie of the Year. He has clearly shown his liking for the course, and there is meant to be rain around meaning conditions could be similar to what he experienced last year.
Marc Leishman finished runner up (we know because we backed him!) and has always shown a liking to potentially windy conditions. He could well get this here in Texas and we’ll try again.
Wise to win, 1 pt, at 25/1, Unibet
Leishman to win, 1 pt, at 25/1, SkyBet
