The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Eeh Bah Gum, (1545 York), 2pts win, 8/1:
Was a progressive sprinting 3yo last year whilstvalways having the frame to mature into something more. Looked as though that added maturity could be fruitful when a cracking 4th here last time from a less than helpful draw. He finished well then and gets a much kinder stall this time. Should sit just behind blog favourite El Astronaute and Copper Knight and can take advantage of the weight concession to pass them late on.
Flashcard, (1430 Goodwood), 7/2 : looked good winning two from three last year and promises to be a better 3yo. Won on debut last year and with this race a long declared target is likely to be sharp enough on debut. Oisin Murphy is always a plus, the stable continues to thrive, and a nice middle draw is kinder than the wider stall given to favourite Dubai Legacy.
Awe, (1450 Haydock), 11/2: ran with great promise on return at Ascot and looks on a very competitive mark in this admittedly high class handicap. Has a useful draw up sit in the pocket and jockey Martin Dwyer is a fine booking for this kind of race.
Baraweez, (1455 Chester), 5/1: loves it here with lifetime course form of 41183. Is on a mark similar to his two wins here last Summer and has been much luckier with the draw than when a promising and fast finishing third here last time. His good apprentice claims a useful 3lbs and he should be a big player here given some luck in runnning.
