A nice cosy win for yesterday’s nap, Wise Words, and at the surprisingly generous price of 11/2. She is crucial to today’s nap also…

NAP OF THE DAY: Inspired Thought, (1720 Redcar), 1pt win, 5/2:
This 3yo filly by sire Dandy Man didn’t see the track until winning her debut on the all weather at Southwell in April. She followed up with a win there where the runner up has run very well since, and there was no disgrace in a runner up effort at Newcastle in a race that is working out very well with wins for the third, fourth, and the winner Wise Words (yesterday’s winning nap!!) On breeding she should love this fast turf and she can outclass these whilst still on the upward curve.
Boundary Lane, (1650 Redcar), 7/2: Lightly raced for a 4yo sprinter, this filly’s 5f form amounts to 214. The win was a strong finishing effort on 4yo debut at Doncaster, and was followed by a very close 4th in a blanket finish at Newmarket off today’s higher mark. That form is good enough to win here, but with all her best runs on flat straight tracks, the return to those conditions could spark some further improvement.
Tukhoom, (1550 Redcar), 4/1: has struggled after a maiden win, with 17 consecutive defeats in handicaps. But this is a weak race and he comes here after a fine run at Doncaster when a shade unlucky to be a very close second. If he gets a clean run then he’ll have few better chance to open his account.
Honey GG, (1910 Southwell), 7/2: a race packed with the usual suspects for a Southwell sand sprint. None come more usual than Honey GG, with 3 wins and 6 seconds in her last 9 starts, mostly here. She is still on the gradual improve and is sure to run to her best as always. A top two places seems pretty likely and she is a fair price to go in again.
