The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Orin Swift, (1540 Goodwood), 1pt win, 4/1:
Has good form at this track on this ground, and has run really well in both starts this season. Still looks progressive as befits a 4yo at this trip, and his small stable is in cracking form.
War Brigade, (1430 Goodwood), 4/1: not a race where many bring solid soft ground credentials, but War Brigade coped well with this surface last year. Had a dabble at hurdling before returning at Doncaster and bombing on quick ground. The change underfoot here looks critical, and it can bring him a win under the excellent James Doyle.
Quench Dolly, (1610 Goodwood), 13/2: has a good record here and a good record when it’s soft. The one time she had both resulted in a romp off a mark of 93. Runs off 83 here, and although not showing much form lately, that was also true before she won at Windsor last year.
Eligible, (1715 Goodwood), 11/4: left his previous maiden form well behind when a good third on seasonal debut. A mark of 75 for his first handicap looks pretty generous and he should be a big contender in a moderate contest.
