PGA Tour: Stick with Hideki…

The PGA Tour stays in the mid-west this week, with TPC Twin Cities in Minnesota hosting the 3M Open.

The course is making its debut at this level of the game, and although there is plenty of water in play the scoring is expected to be very low.

Last week we sided with Japanese star Hideki Matsuyama, thinking that his impressive putting stats would help in a tournament that was expected to be low scoring. As it turned out he didn’t putt as well as had been the case in the previous three weeks yet still finished tied 13th. With similar conditions expected, we’ll side with him again and hope the flat stick works.

Our second selection is Cameron Champ. The young American hits the ball a mile off the tee and thus could take advantage of the driveable par fours on this course. He has won on the PGA Tour already, recording a -21 score at Sanderson Farms Championship last October. It may well take a similar score to win this weekend.

Recommendations:

Matsuyama to win, 1 pt, at 11/1, bet365

Champ 0.5 pts each way at 90/1, 1/5 the odds for the first seven places, Corals
