Well after some sublime racing yesterday, it’s a dose of the mundane today. Still we have a 6/1 Nap and 14/1 winner from yesterday to follow up, so here goes….
The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Laura Bullion, (1655 Fairyhouse), 1pt win, 4/1:
Ran a blinder when second in a big field at Leopardstown and is surely well in on just a pound higher mark. Wasn’t able to repeat that at Roscommon but can be excused as that drop in trip demanded more aggressive front running tactics which didn’t suit ideally. She is back over a more suitable distance here and can reaffirm that Leopardstown promise.
Perfection, (1510 Fairyhouse), 7/2: only third best in ratings but still looks to be on the rise. This trip should suit better than the 6f of the Wokingham last time but her unlucky running on 7th there is golden form, with Tis Marvellous’s Ascot romp yesterday the latest franking of that race. Should justify the trip over the sea.
Victorious Secret, (1545 Fairyhouse), 14/1: has been an all weather regular winning twice at Dundalk in January. Has won on turf and is rated here the same as that winning January mark. Was returning from 4 months off when fading into 7th at Leopardstown last time. Can come on from that, is nicely drawn and gets a useful 4lbs from a decent apprentice on board.
Red Bloodcruiser, (1620 Fairyhouse), 16/1: five handicap starts this season have been mostly disappointing, but by far her best effort was when finishing well over 6f in her only appearance at this track. On that form she should be close with favourite Bionic Tonic, and it is worth forgiving her subsequent Naas failure at a very different track.
