Thursday Yankee each : Storm warning…

A few close shaves this week and we’re going all out for the full four today….

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Big Storm Coming, (1940 Epsom), 1pt win, 2/1:

Is 2 from 2 at this track, winning this last year off a mark off 78, and then surging clear here last week off 73. Has been raised to 80 but gets to run here off just 77 with star apprentice Fallon taking off another 5lbs. Has a history of stringing together results when in form, and although opposed by some lightly raced 3yos it will be a surprise if they can handle him in this form.

Point Of Order, (1340 Hamilton), 15/8: these novice events for 2yos have been well targeted by progressive maidens. Mia Diva did exactly that to win at Catterick, but is now on the receiving end having to give up a 6lb penalty and in Point Of Order she looks to have more than she can handle. Archie Watson has excelled with his 2yos and this one ran a debut full of promise at Beverley. Tudhope has been booked and this should be routine.

Greengage, (1510 Hamilton), 9/4: the booking of Danny Tudhope for Irish raider Bellepower takes the eye but her second last time has been let down by all eight runners to have run since. In contrast Greengage looked very unlucky not to win at Ayr last time and that race is already working out very well. She can defeat the younger raider.

Peace Prevails, (2015 Epsom), 6/4: another recent Epsom course winner, this 4yo filly trounced a field here last time and the 5lb rise looks very manageable. Has two turf wins in ten, the other came off 66, so this new mark of 59 shouldn’t be too much of a burden.
