The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Chinese Spirit, (1610 Ayr), 1pt win, 11/2:
Has two course wins here and won’t mind if it softens. Won well at Hamilton a few runs ago and subsequent efforts off this mark at Carlisle and back here were both a shade unlucky. Looks to still be on a winning mark and can confirm his love of the track.
Glasses Up, (1645 Ayr), 15/2: all three wins have been here. Was well beaten by easy winner Asian Angel on seasonal debut but gets a colossal weight adjustment and should strip fitter. Wouldn’t have enjoyed the mile trip last time when still close up behind today’s favourite Nicholas T and is much more at home this trip than that rival.
Gorgeous General, (1900 Beverley), 14/1: switched to turf here when a fair fourth last time. Gets a 9lb pull with the winner there and favourite today Ginger Jam. Looks nicely drawn here at a track where draw bias is massive, and may be able to grab the rail and be tough to pass.
Moonraker, (1920 Windsor), 11/2: much higher rated on the all weather but returned to turf with an excellent close third here last week. On paper he should be just short of Dachas, but he can improve for that run where he was unfancied and got going too late.
