Thursday Yankee: Nin better at Doncaster…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Ninjago, (1745 Doncaster), 1pt win, 7/2:

A nice little handicap, but this 9yo veteran looks the one to focus on. Has always run this track well, but his mark had been plummeting after a series of poor efforts. That came to an end three runs ago and his form of 121 has only seen a 7lb total rise. That still leaves him miles below his best, he won’t run to his best, but won’t need to and he can win under the flying Tudhope.

Walk In Marrakesh, (1415 Sandown), 2/1: Progressed from his debut to record two bloodless victories, and now steps up noticeably in class. Could enjoy a troublefree ride up front and there is no better jockey for the job than Frankie.

Blue Medici, (1730 Newbury), 6/4: ran out an easy winner last time under this amateur jockey. That was a step up on any previous form and easily enough to win this. The question therefore is flash-in-the-pan or genuine improvement, and we are happy to back the improvement.

Ragstone View, (2010 Newbury), 9/2: two of his three wins have come at this track. Finished well to win here last time over a mile and will appreciate a strong pace here. Has the always excellent Oisin Murphy on board and can follow up.
