PGA Tour: Spinning a successful Webb…

Thursday sees the start of the Wyndham Championship, held at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

This event saw a rare 59 posted last year, with Brandt Snedeker being only the 10th player to do so on the PGA Tour on his way to winning the tournament. He must have a good chance again this time around but we think defending a title isn’t easy and we’ll steer clear.

Instead we’re going to side with the favourite Webb Simpson. The American star has run into form, with some strong results over his last eight outings, including a second place finish last weekend at the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. He clearly likes this course, with six top ten finishes in his 10 starts here, including winning in 2011.

For each way bettors we recommend Matthew Wolff. This 20-year old has already won on the PGA Tour, the 3M Open in July, just a month after turning professional. A bright future awaits, and we think the 50/1 on offer holds value this week.

Recommendations:

Simpson to win, 1 pt, at 10/1, Betfair Sportsbook

Wolff 0.5 pts each way at 50/1, 1/5 the odds for the first six places, Unibet
