Our bad luck continued in spades yesterday, with front-running nap Lil Rockerfeller left in last after a messy flag start, and then Moll Davis being one of the unluckiest losers of the entire season. Maybe today…

NAP OF THE DAY: Band Of Outlaws, (1655 Galway), 1pt win, 4/1:
Was one of the stars of last season winning the Fred Winter at Cheltenham with considerable ease. Amazingly he is just 6lbs higher for that, and should be forgiven his two subsequent defeats, with rain-softened ground at Aintree unsuitable and the small field at Tipperary not providing the cover he needs. He looks the sort to always be at his best in a big field handicap and he can show that today.
Forest Of Dean, (1350 Goodwood), 5/1: ran 4th last time in what is proving to be one of the key handicaps of the season. Everything around him has run well since, but he stays on his mark of 93 having been rested since that run. He probably needed the break having been busy through the Spring and trainer Gosden is sure to have him buzzing for this. Gets a 7lb pull with Sinjaari for a 4 length beating, and he looks the main danger, but a fresh Forest Of Dean should have too much.
Celcius, (1720 Goodwood), 8/1: on a roll with three wins and a second in his four runs this season. Won a shade cosily at Donny last time having been slowly away. Up 5lbs for that is no great hardship, and with plenty of pace on here he should have things run to suit even if he is a little slow off the blocks again.
One Cool Poet, (1730 Galway), 5/1: this festival has a rich tradition of horses trying to double-up during the week and One Cool Poet is the first to try this year having pulled off a last to first coup over 9f here on Tuesday. Runs this longer trip really well and clearly is thriving under these conditions. Main rival Lusis Naturea looks similarly well-in but lacks the course credentials.
