After yesterday’s heroics of three wins and a second, there is only a slight opportunity for improvement, but today’s foursome will hopefully oblige.
The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Myklachi, (1520 Thirsk), 1pt win, 7/2:
Has been in consistent form since winning at Ripon earlier in the season. 10f looked a fraction too sharp at Ayr, and then he was very unlucky over this trip back at Ripon. Last time he was just run down on very soft ground at Lingfield. These look ideal conditions today and he still looks well in only 5lbs higher than his winning mark despite those strong subsequent efforts.
Alright Sunshine, (1540 Musselburgh), 7/4: this ex bumper winner was a good winning nap for us last time when winning at Ripon. Was massively supported in the market that day, and although the margin of victory was small he looks like he has a ton in hand. A 4lb rise is unlikely to stop him and expect him to be backed off the boards again
Outbox, (1910 Newmarket), 7/4: unbeaten Frankel colt at 3yo, and then started his 4yo season narrowly beaten in a Listed race. Two subsequent defeats have been behind the extraordinary King’s Advice, the latest when going down by a head at Glorious Goodwood. Seeks quick compensation before a 4lb rise comes into effect. Rushing back doesn’t always work, but he’s a potential good thing if reproducing that effort.
Power Player, (2025 Haydock), 3/1: made his handicap debut last time in a very strong looking race at this track over a shorter trip. Stayed on really well there for third hinting that this step up in trip could be ideal. The form of that race has already been repeatedly franked within which context the unchanged mark of 68 looks a gift.
