Saturday Yankee: Ray of inspiration

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Billy Ray, (1340 Ascot), 1pt win, 7/2:

Won a few races last year but was slow to start this season.  Seemed to leave that behind in a good Newbury race when second to the useful Withhold with the rest of a strong field well beaten.  That should be good enough for the win here, with jockey Danny Tudhope a match made in heaven.

Danzeno (1305 Ascot), 11/4:  has a good record contesting big handicaps here with form of 23514003.  That latest third came in the Wokingham the form of which is proving to be golden.  Has won again since and should go close off this mark having had a lucky draw to get UK based French veteran Gerald Mosse in the saddle

Nicholas T, (1450 Ascot), 10/1: has been in flying form on the Northern circuit and should enjoy the shape of this race as a hold up horse in a race seemingly set to be run at a strong pace. And great luck that Spencer gets drawn to ride as there is no better exponent in the business of an Ascot hold up ride

Sapa Inca, (1325 Ascot), 9/2:  has been in great form all season and ran her best yet when runner up in a good race at Goodwood after meeting trouble in running.  Has also drawn well with Hayley Turner on board.  Should have enough to better stable companion Vivid Diamond.
