The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Tarboosh (1530 Nottingham), 1pt win, 11/4:
One of our old favourites who has been in good form this season. Goes well on this ground and edged out rival Stake Acclaim last time. Likes the course and was an impressive winner of this race last year. Looks value against a fragile odds-on favourite Kyllang Rock who failed to run to his elevated rating on seasonal debut.
Ugh Gregory, (1630 Nottingham), 7/4: we love old Ninjago and he was unlucky last time when we had him napped but all his best form is on quick ground and his free running style surely needs a better surface. That opens this up for last week’s winner here on this soft surface, Ugo Gregory. He won very well then and is only a 3yo so entitled if anything to get better with racing. Looks hard to beat.
Fox Hill, (1745 Carlisle), 3/1: showed some first form at this track three runs ago when runner up to a well handicapped horse. Should have won next time when swerving with the face at his mercy and then got up late to win last time. Only 3lbs higher, which looks generous given he beat a field of 20, and he should run well here, albeit heavy ground is unproven.
Cliff Bay, (1915 Carlisle), 9/2: has been in flying form in recent weeks, winning here before close run efforts at Musselburgh and Ayr. Still looks on a winning mark and this field has more numbers than quality. Has form on soft ground and looks likely to run a big race.
