Thursday Yankee: We’re on the Farrh side…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: So Near So Farrh, (1735 Chepstow), 4/1:

Game mare who loves to plug on up this long straight. Two wins this season here and previous winning form on soft and heavy suggest everything should be in her favour to add to that fine record.

Arnold, (1530 Beverley), 7/1: won this race last year under today’s jockey Joe Fanning and returns off exactly the same mark. Ran well here last time for 4th and gets a useful weight pull with main danger Burtonwood as well as a better draw.

Ascot Day, (1700 Chepstow), 9/1: won here earlier in the year and was also a close second here to rival Kingswood. Gets a big weight pull for that narrow defeat and a subsequent failure at very different Chester is best ignored. Soft ground no issue.

Red Jerry, (1935 Leopardstown), 6/1: looked to have been prepped for a Galway festival raid and was backed accordingly, but got cut to pieces on the home bend there losing all chance. Seeks compensation here and should get it too having been handed an ideal draw.
