Premier League: Naughty Pieters…

Subscribers will have been counting the cash with our last football bet, Sadio Mane to net last in the Super Cup, and let’s hope there’s more success to come.

The first match today sees Arsenal host Burnley at the Emirates. The Gunners started their Premier League campaign with a hard fought if unspectacular win at Newcastle last week. Burnley also has an important win last time out, dismissing Southampton with ease at home.

The visitors have a poor record in this fixture – losing the last nine – and are likely to make this game a physical one. The Gunners are likely to introduce new signing Nicolas Pepe. A talented player, he is likely to cause Burnley trouble. He is set to be marked by Erik Pieters, and we’ll take the Burnley defender to be the first player into the book.

The late game this evening could be a real belter, defending champions Manchester City versus the team that dumped them out of the Champions League, Tottenham.

City were imperious in the opening match, dismissing West Ham 5-0 away from home, while Spurs struggled to a 3-1 home win over newly promoted Aston Villa.

We think those matches indicate where these two sides are at the moment, and we expect City to win today, potentially comfortably.

Belgian midfielder Kevin de Bruyne was injured for a large part of last season, and will now be determined to make up for lost time by running today’s show. He’s a media favourite and we think this could result in him winning the man of the match award.

Recommendations:

Arsenal/Burnley: Pieters to be booked first, 1 pt, at 12/1, bet365

Man City/Tottenham: De Bruyne to win man of the match, 1 pt, at 13/2, BetFred
