Kerching !! 20/1 Yankee, but oh so close !!

Should we laugh or cry?

After the desperately unlucky defeat of our nap on Saturday we hoped we were done with fast finishing despair….roll forward 24 hours.

Our York based Sunday yankee was already a triumph, keeping up a great summer run, with opening leg pick Coolagh Forest (14/1 early, 12/1 SP) making all gamely. That was followed by easy wins for both Platform Nineteen (2/1) and Roulston Scar (5/2), leaving all eyes on nap Black Kalanisi (5/1) in the closer.

That was where our luck ran dry as our pick, a good stayer, was tactically undone by a farcically slow race which developed into a dash. He took a while to move through the gears but flashed home in the final furlong to go down by a fast diminishing neck. Ouch !!

It was still around a 20/1 return on total staked on the yankee, but the additional 150 times staked that was left hanging by that narrow defeat will take a while to brush off emotionally.

No better way than by landing the big payday soon after, check here to see if we can bounce straight back with Monday’s yankee.
