NAP OF THE DAY: Graceful Magic, (1410 Doncaster), 1pt win, 9/2:
Some useful fillies in this nursery with Company Minx and Special Secret representing some golden Windsor form. That said, a line through the horse on their tails at Windsor gives Graceful Magic a matching chance as she chased that one home at Goodwood with the weights set to make it close. However, Graceful Magic was very unlucky at Goodwood, and she can do better here on this more conventional track.
Enbihaar, (1440 Doncaster), 11/8: is the older horse here and penalised meaning she is giving plenty of weight away. That may make her vulnerable to an improver, but she is herself improving rapidly and was deeply impressive at Goodwood last time. It will be a surprise if she doesn’t defy the weights, and she is a physically impressive horse who will no have no problem with a weight burden.
Glasvegas, (1515 Doncaster), 6/1: an immensely lucrative 2yo contest has attracted a strong field. We do like Manigordo for the yard that had a runaway winner in a similar York contest. That said the weights here are oddly determined, and he will carry 9st, and only 2 of the previous 10 winners did that. Instead, we have to trust the numbers. Glasvegas ran a cracking 3rd in the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot. That may not be that meeting’s strongest 2yo heat, but that was still a great run and his cheap background means he gets in off just 8st 6, making him very well in. Kept fresh since, he has a winning chance on the book with Manigordo for the forecast !!
Hart Stopper, (1620 Doncaster), 13/2: in form sprinter has had a few mishaps of late but is very useful on his day. This course should be perfect and in a race restricted to women jockeys he has the assistance of a super confident and in form Megan Nicholls.
