NFL: Vikings to lead treble…

Another Sunday and another chance to land a tasty treble in the NFL. We were unlucky last weekend as the New York Jets found an improbable way to lose.

This time round we’re going to start with the Minnesota Vikings to beat the Green Bay Packers. The Packers are favoured to win this clash but that is largely down to home field advantage. They did win their opening game against the Bears but their offence struggled. The Vikings took the Falcons apart last weekend and we’ll side with them today.

Next up are the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins. The Cowboys overpowered the Giants last weekend and now travel to the Capitol to take on another divisional rival. Offensively the Cowboys looked very impressive last weekend, but that was against a weak New York team. Still, in Prescott and Elliott the Cowboys have two stars that can trouble any team. The Redskins shined briefly in their opener against the Eagles, but petered our in the second half. If the Cowboys have designs on post season play they should win this one.

Finally we have the big clash between the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Rams. This was the NFC Championship game in January, with the Rams winning thanks to a highly controversial no-penalty call. These two teams have designs on the Super Bowl. The Rams have home field advantage and are thus favoured, but we think the Saints will be burning for revenge and like the odds against.

Recommendation: Vikings, Cowboys and Rams to win as a treble, 1 pt, around 6/1, widely available
