The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Awsaaf, (1640 Yarmouth), 1pt win, 7/2:
Has a superb all weather record and this is one of the tracks that correlate well with the synthetics. Came from last to first to register a turf win at Bath and had no luck trying the same trick last time. Jockey Spencer looks a perfect booking.
Give It Some Teddy, (1600 Redcar), 6/1: has lifetime Redcar course form of 15115732 and ran a really good race last time at York over a trip too far. In his previous race here he was a neck behind today’s favourite Star Shield. With a 1lb pull it should be a dead heat, but Teddy is twice the price, and looks the value call.
Excellent George, (1710 Yarmouth), 9/4: has ranked high on the all weather and showed he can do it on turf when a decent second racing alone at Windsor. Has apprentice Ghiani claiming an invaluable 7lbs , and he looks primed to score here
Groundworker, (2030 Newcastle), 7/1: has won here off this very mark in the past but the 7lb rise for hacking up at Hamilton last time requires him to be at his best in the last three years. Such was the was of that Hamilton win it may just be worth chancing that he is in flying form.
