Monday Yankee: Black day ahead…

A bout of seconditis of late, with three more to add to the collection on yesterday’s Yankee. The multiple winners must be just around the corner.

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Black Kalanisi, (1610 Hamilton), 1pt win 5/2:

Was our only loser on a yankee recently, and was very unlucky in that regard. There was no pace at York and after being outpaced when the sprint started he stayed on really well for a rapidly closing 2nd. Only up 2lbs and the horse that beat him at York was a good winner here yesterday.

Ocean Air, (1530 Hamilton), 7/2: Irish trained but a regular visitor to these shores winning nicely here in july. Up 6lbs but still on a basement level mark and should have enough headroom to go in again

Mecca’s Gift, (1715 Hamilton), 11/4: has the beating of rival My Ukelele on recent Thirsk form. And although 13lbs higher than when winning here earlier in the summer, that was a 7l romp and the weight rise is well earned. Ran well on a soft surface recently at Carlisle so should go well here.

Pioneering, (1750 Hamilton), 4/1: has been effective off higher marks in the past and arrested a form slide in no uncertain manner when a wide margin winner at Musselburgh a few days ago. Only up 5lbs and has a history of back-to-back wins.
