Champions League: Midfield majesty…

It’s the second week of the Champions League group stage, with the highlight being Tottenham hosting Bayern Munich.

Spurs reached the Champions League final last year, threatening to become European royalty, but have had a sticky start to this season. They drew their opening group game against Olympiakos while Bayern dispatched Red Star Belgrade with ease.

It’s not always wise to bet against Tottenham in this event, but we think the German side are playing more confident football at the moment. They recruited Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona in the close season and the former Liverpool star appears to have settled well in Munich. We’ll take him to net this evening.

The second game involving a Premier League side is Manchester City hosting Dinamo Zagreb.

The Premier League champions have responded to their shock defeat to Norwich with style, thumping those put in front of them.

We think it will be similar tonight, but the anytime goal scorer odds are very tight. Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva has become a very important player for the Manchester side and we’ll head down that path for an anytime goal tonight.

Recommendation: Coutinho to score for Bayern and Bernardo Silva for Man City as an anytime double, 1 pt, around 7/1, SkyBet
