Tuesday Yankee: And repeat…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Quirky Gertie, (1620 Ayr), 1pt win 10/1:

Our nap from yesterday who went down by a head after a protracted battle over 6f at Hamilton. The front two were 7l clear and this extra furlong at this track should be ideal. It will be a significant vote of confidence if she turns out again so quickly, and she looks well in off her low weight, we’ll give her another roll of the dice.

Rattling Jewel, (1420 Ayr), 3/1: Irish trained gelding whose best form is on this soft surface. Won at Listowel last time, repeating a win from last year, and a 5lb rise looks very manageable back at this trip. Was rated a lot higher in the past and should have scope to win this minor race.

Bea Ryan, (1520 Ayr), 7/2: very inexperienced mare for her age but ran a race full of promise on handicap debut at Catterick. Bred to enjoy this softer ground and has been given a handy little break since that run. Can only improve and steps down to this basement grade with just a few low-level Irish raiders to fend off.

Fannie By Gaslight, (1650 Ayr), 9/4: two soft ground wins, the latest of which was a romp at Chester on the weekend. She surged clear there despite having had a poor run and the 5lb penalty looks nothing like enough to stop her here. Should be a shoo-in.
