Thursday Yankee: Racing perfection…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Perfecimperfection, (1900 Chelmsford), 1pt win, 8/1:

This race is stacked with technically well-in recent winners, but they all have to prove they will be as effective on the all weather. Perfecimperfection comes here off the back of a good course win over this trip in a race which is already working out well. He has been reassessed up by just 3lbs and has less to prove than many of the more fancied runners.

Strict Tempo, (1930 Chelmsford), 6/1: has been something of a bridesmaid this season, but arguably her best run was her sole all-weather effort when an unlucky runner-up at Kempton under Oisin Murphy. The champion jockey elect renews acquaintance and back on this kind of surface she has a strong chance at this grade.

Desert Fox, (2000 Chelmsford), 7/2: all four career wins have come at this track off broadly this rating. Didn’t get much luck last time, and is nicely drawn here to stalk the pace. If he gets the breaks then he should bring up the course five-timer.

Frea, (2030 Chelmsford), 4/1: retuned from a short break with a decent staying on fourth here on Saturday. The winner then, Broughton Excels is well in under just a 5lb penalty for that easy win, but Frea had terrible luck in running and can only do better. With the weight pull and a clear run it should be much closer than the odds suggest.
