European Golf: Pavan the way…

It’s the Italian Open this week on the European Tour, with the Olgiata Golf Club near Rome hosting.

This course is new, meaning most players are here for the first time, and long, amounting to over 7500 yards for a par 71.

This tournament is the fifth of the prestigious Rolex Series, and thus worth a lot in the race for Ryder Cup qualification next year. There are a number of players that we think have a burning desire to represent Europe next year. Among them Shane Lowry, Matt Wallace, Danny Willett and Matthew Fitzpatrick spring to mind.

However, we can’t help but notice that Andrea Pavan was brought up in this part of the world and learnt his golf on this course. We like the advantage of local knowledge, particularly when most of the field has no knowledge at all!

We’ll side with the in form Roman and reinvest the each way cash we won with Adri Arnaus last weekend.

Recommendation:

Pavan 1 pt each way at 30/1, 1/5 the odds for the first seven places, SkyBet
