Premier League: Return of De Bruyne…

The Premier League returns this weekend after the international break, with the highlight being the clash between Crystal Palace and defending champions Manchester City at Selhurst Park.

City will return to the field determined to banish the memory of their home defeat by Wolves last time out. Their main rival for the title, Liverpool, are eight points ahead so a win today is essential. They will also be helped by the likely return of Kevin de Bruyne.

The Belgian midfielder is the heartbeat of the team, and was missing against Wolves and on the bench when City lost to Norwich. We think he will inspire a City win, and be rewarded with the man of the match accolade by pundits who tend to think very highly of him.

The early game sees Everton hosting West Ham, with Toffees manager Marco Silva under pressure after a run of disappointing results. Four consecutive defeats have seen Everton drop into the relegation zone.

West Ham, by contrast, are enjoying their best start to a Premier League for four seasons, with victory here potentially lifting them into third in the table.

One area Everton have showed vulnerability this season is from set pieces – they have conceded five times and have yet to score. We’ll look to profit from this weakness.

West Ham striker Sebastian Haller is a tall lad and likely to be a threat from the crossed ball. He scored last time out so is likely to be confident, and we’ll take him to open the scoring while West Ham pour more misery on the Toffees.

Recommendations:

Everton/West Ham: Haller to score and West Ham to win, 1 pt, at 6/1, William Hill

Crystal Palace/Manchester City: De Bruyne to be man of the match, 1 pt, at 4/1, William Hill
