NAP OF THE DAY: I’d Better Go Now, (1300 Wincanton), 1pt win, 11/2:
Trainer Dan Skelton is prolific and amongst his many tactics he is adept at producing sharp improvement after getting seemingly modest horses very lowly rated, with wind operations a prime tool. That’s the route with this fella, and support in the market suggests he has been showing enough at home to expect the win.
Coup De Pinceau, (1445 Wincanton ), 5/2: master trainer Paul Nicholls loves to farm one of his local tracks, and in Coup De Pinceau he has a horse with seasonal debut form of 1121. This could be the best he will be and jockey Harry Cobden appears to have chosen him over the capable Captain Cattistock.
Mount Hanover, (1545 Wexford), 2/1: produced his best hurdles form on very soft surfaces. After two novice chases he has shown plenty of promise and it’s inexplicable that he has been given a 7lb lower rating than over hurdles. Must have a big chance for the in form Henry de Bromhead and the incomparable Rachael Blackmore.
Aweeminit, (1630 Wincanton), 5/2: ran miles above herself when a close third at 100/1 in a Listed event last week. That would make her a cert off this old mark if the form could be trusted. In her favour she is lightly raced and from a top yard so there are enough reasons at these odds to give her the benefit of the doubt.
