Tuesday Yankee: Heavy betting….

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Carlovian, (1615 Catterick), 1pt win, 4/1:

Six career wins include wins at this track and wins on heavy ground.  Wins have come mostly at 6f and 7f so his running on 4th on heavy at Nottingham last time over 5f suggests he is ready to strike.  Has been kindly dropped to the same rating as when winning on heavy earlier his season and is a far more proven mudlark than those ahead of him in this market.

The Grey Zebedee,  (1300 Catterick), 5/2:  in form sprinter whose lifetime best came on soft ground at this track just a couple of months ago.  Has stayed in top form being pipped at Newcastle last time, with the preference for soft likely to produce improvement. That all augurs well for what is likely to be a quagmire.

No Rematch, (1315 Chepstow), 9/2: Any money for long absent The Wallace Line would be interesting, but him aside there is little here to challenge the two interesting second season hurdlers No Rematch and Accordingtogino.  Both represent stables in form but No Rematch has arguably the better form, the edge on breeding, and comes form a yard that loves to target this local track.

Airglow,  (1510 Catterick), 7/2:  all his best has come on soft surfaces including winning this event last year.  Hinted at a return to form here recently and then ran a blinder last week to be pipped on Southwell’s Fibresand surface – the all weather equivalent of soft ground.  Looks to be peaking at the right time for a repeat win.
