Saturday Yankee: Daw opening…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Clondaw Castle,  (1410 Ascot), 1pt win, 11/2:

Was a pretty useful novice last season and his 4th in the Arkle can be marked up as he was the only one to take on the winner before fading late on.  Should be refreshed by the summer break, and is on a mark that offers him plenty of headroom.

Adjali, (1445 Ascot), 11/2:  second season hurdler who didn’t quite deliver on his early promise after importing from France.  Ran ok at the major festivals and his mark has slipped a bit for that.  Given how impressive he was early last season then this could be the ideal time to back him.

Indefatigable, (1455 Wetherby), 3/1:  we were sweet on this strapping mare for a novice event at Cheltenham at a huge price last March and she duly finished where all good each way shots do – one spot out of the places.  Won well afterwards and ran with some promise first time out in a decent Chepstow event.  She is a big and mare and likely to improve a lot for that run, and only has a pound to find on the admirable Lady Buttons.  She surely has at least a pound of improvement in her.

Larry, (1520 Ascot), 10/1:  Plenty of doubts on trip and handicap marks for the market leading ex novices here, and its another second season chaser, Larry, who makes appeal.  Trainer Gary Moore does very well with these types and often lands a big prize at these Autumn Ascot cards.
