The Daily Yankee
NAP OF THE DAY: Lightly Squeeze, (1425 Warwick), 1pt win, 4/1:
He was in good form stepping into handicap hurdle company this time last year when some sloppy jumps cost him a win at Exeter and the sharp track was not ideal when 3rd in a big field at Wincanton. Looks on a great mark, and whilst a setback means he hasn’t faced a hurdle since, he did come back on the flat recently with a good win, so should be perfectly fit.
La Cavsa Nostro, (1455 Warwick), 7/4: Very lightly raced chaser who showed the benefits of a patient training plan by winning well at Chepstow on his recent reappearance. That course can be a law unto itself but he had the form horses in the frame so it looks good and he gets to run here under a penalty that leaves him well in.
Rule The Sea, (1815 Dundalk), 20/1: won on handicap debut at Tipperary and can be excused his two subsequent defeats, one on soft ground, and then here last time when not staying the 10f. Drops back here and has a useful middle draw. With the market leaders either very wide or right on the inner there is scope for a surprise.
Katiymann, (1945 Dundalk), 13/2: a regular contender here off this sort of mark. Returned to the surface last time and ran a race of promise under exaggerated hold up tactics. Has a useful middle draw here and has been luckier that hot favourite Kafu who needs to defy a weight rise and a wide draw. Should go close.
