The early game this afternoon sees Crystal Palace travel up the road to take on Chelsea.
Frank Lampard’s Chelsea team has impressed many this season and are clear favourites to win today. However, we don’t think they will have it easy despite having won their last five league games. Chelsea had a difficult match in the Champions League midweek while today’s opponents rested, and Palace did well to draw at the Emirates in their last away fixture.
Chelsea could well win but we think the value is with Palace. In Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend they have a couple of quick wingers that can cause the home team trouble on the break. With this in mind we note that Luka Milivojevic, Palace’s expert penalty taker, is best priced 5/1 to score today, but it’s 12/1 for Palace to net a penalty. We’ll try this.
The late game could be a cracker, as it sees Leicester hosting Arsenal at the King Power Stadium.
Brendan Rogers has got his Leicester side playing well, winning eight of their last 11 home games. They lie third in the league and have the chance to move into second. They must be brimful of confidence, and are favoured to beat the Gunners tonight.
Arsenal are struggling to hold onto leads these days, letting them slip in their last four competitive games. This suggests defensive frailties. Additionally, they have won just four times in their last 16 on the road.
It’s always difficult to judge the Gunners, but we fancy the home team today. And in Jamie Vardy they have a striker bang in form – he’s scored seven in his last six appearances. He’s best priced at evens to score today but SkyBet offers an enhanced 7/1 that he nets twice. We’ll try that.
Recommendations:
Chelsea/Crystal Palace: Crystal Palace to score a penalty, 1 pt, at 12/1, bet365
Leicester/Arsenal: Vardy to score twice, 1 pt, at 7/1, SkyBet
