He won easily the last time he ran here off 88 in March. That was his 3rd win in 5 runs here, and ten subsequent defeats elsewhere has seen his mark slip all the way back to 85. That’s a winning mark and he can prove it here today.
American Life, (1530 Plumpton), 10/1: veteran 12yo whose 5 hurdles wins have come 3 on heavy and 2 on soft. Hasn’t seen that ground since 3rd at Chepstow in the Spring off 85. Now down in the low 70s, he can exploit that drop back on this quagmire.
Dark Regard, (1745 Southwell), 10/3: Left her turf form behind when drawing away to win a maiden here last time. Recorded a relatively good time in victory and a mark of 72 looks pretty tasty back under the same conditions.
Sooqaan, (1945 Southwell), 7/1: an old regular here. First made an impact with a hat-trick off marks between 54 and 64, then took a while to win again once his mark slipped back to 59. On a long drought since but now down to 51, and his close 4th here last time suggests he’s ready to go in again.
