NAP OF THE DAY: Glory Of Paris, (1845 Chelmsford), 1pt win, 7/1:
He has won here twice before but has been in poor form this Autumn. That has seen his mark fall 10lbs to a tasty 72, and he was a fair fourth off that mark in a good little race at Kempton last time. Comes from a yard that likes attracts money when their fancied and any market move would be very significant.
Book Review, (1350 Kempton), 2/1: this 2yo novice event has attracted some nice types, but it should boil down to a duel. Laser Show was very impressive winning in July on debut but hasn’t been seen since and shoulders a 7lb penalty. That swings things in favour of Book Review who comes from the top stable and ran a really promising debut effort at Nottingham recently.
Ouzo, (1420 Kempton), 5/1: a trio of 3yos head the market here. Bear Force One is favourite after a romp last time but a 11lb hike makes things difficult. We’ll take the chance that Ouzo can give his best on this surface. He knows how to win and has some dirt performers in the pedigree.
Good Tidings, (1520 Kempton), 5/1: the race of the day full of progressive sorts. John Gosden runs Good Tidings who may have won last time with a bit more luck, is handicapped to go close with the first and fourth that day, but crucially now tries a first time visor. That’s a rare tactical move by Gosden and if it eeks out any improvement then he should have a winning chance.
