NAP OF THE DAY: Sheila Nash, (1530 Wetherby), 2pts win, 11/2:
A bit of a punt to nap an unraced bumper horse, but trainer Harry Whittington can win first time out with his better horses and this mare is well thought of. The booking of Jonjo Jnr with his 3lb claim is a distinctive statement of intent. Could be a major gamble.
Fancy Footings, (1430 Southwell), 2/1: made a huge jump forward in form when running out an easy winner on his first experience of this surface last time. Has been put up 8lbs but the handicapper can struggle to catch up with these types once they show a liking for the surface and he can follow up despite the hike.
Thomas Macdonagh (1455 Wetherby), 7/2: fairly lightly raced and won on his second hurdles event when making all in the Hexham mud last time. This is a track that can reward prominent racing, and Page Fuller is both adept at riding from the front and claims a useful 3lbs.
Fuwairt, (1840 Kempton), 14/1: won here in the Spring off 78, and has worked his way back to form after a mid season break showing much more when 6th here from a wide draw last time. Is down to 72, and much better drawn here, he looks too big a price.
