Thursday Yankee: Western shootout…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY: Western Doyen, (1505 Thurles), 1pt win, 4/1:

He was a good close second in a field of 18 here last week.  Due to go up 3lbs for that, which seems generous, but runs here off his lower mark.  Every reason to think that’s a winning prospect.

Hilltop Supreme, (1250 Thurles), 3/1:  has seven chase runs to his name but is yet to score.  That said, his 2nd at Naas last time was a success, and he sneaks in here off a very low weight.  Jockey Adam Short claims a useful 3lbs.

Highway To Success (1450 Taunton), 5/2:   Left his previous form miles behind when coming from last to first to land a race at Wincanton.  Runs off the same mark here and is due to go up 9lbs shortly, indicating how much he is well in.

Dont Be Robin (1510 Ffos Las), 7/2:  a tricky race as so many of the favourites have been badly out of form.  Dont Be Robin is an exception having been a good runner up in two of his last three runs.  Handles the ground and should go well.
