We love the jumps, and there are few better days to hit form this side of Cheltenham than Newbury’s showpiece Hennessey (ok ok Ladbroke) meeting.

Blog followers were certainly enjoying the day as our daily yankee hit 3 from 4 for an approximately 30 x return on total stakes.

The ball was set rolling in dramatic fashion by the absolute runaway front-running performance of The Cashel Man (9/1) who streaked clear for an easy win.

We felt Epatante (4/1 early, 3/1SP) would enjoy the flatter track, which she surely did with another easy win.

Momentum was seemingly lost when our pick in the big race was pulled up after just half the race, but the big payday still came when our 2pt Nap of the day, Magic Saint (9/2 early, 3/1SP), jumped beautifully off the good surface and managed to just squeeze home in a driving finish.

We were two close finishes from the full house at Newbury on Friday as well – got to love the jumps, and there’s a cracking card at Fairyhouse tomorrow too…stay tuned.
