Today’s Premier League fixtures start with an interesting clash at Carrow Road, as Norwich take on Arsenal.
Norwich arrive fresh from a morale-boosting win over Everton last time out, while Arsenal struggled at home to Southampton, resulting in Unai Emery losing his job as manager. This would suggest a home win, especially given Arsenal have now gone seven league and cup games without a win for the first time since February 1992.
However, will there be a “new manager bounce” as Freddie Ljungberg takes over on an interim basis?
Both teams have been struggling defensively, so goals are likely – probably at both ends! But we’ll side with the team with the proven goalscorers. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored four of Arsenal’s five away goals this season, and we’ll take him to open the scoring today.
The late televised match sees high-flying Leicester take on beleaguered Everton.
This match has got home win written all over it. Leicester lie joint second in the league, having won their last five top flight matches. They have scored 17 unanswered league goals, the best run in their history. And they now take on an Everton side which lies just above the relegation zone and looks dreadfully short of confidence. We can see only one result.
Additionally, Leicester have a striker in fire. Jamie Vardy has scored 12 goals in his last 12 home league matches, as well as in each of his last five games, and we think he’s likely to net again today.
SkyBet have boosted Vardy to evens to score anytime today, and to 20/1 for a hat trick. Both bets combined offer a potentially healthy return.
Recommendations:
Norwich/Arsenal: Aubameyang to score first, 1 pt, at 33/10, Unibet
Leicester/Everton: Vardy to score anytime, 1 pt, at evens and to score a hat trick, 1 pt, at 20/1, SkyBet
