Thursday Yankee: Per Favori…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Favori De Sivola, (1220 Wincanton), 1pt win, 8/1:

Youngster making his handicap debut for shrewd connections.  Was very promising on good at Stratford, ran ok in a daunting mission to Auteuil and then ran a nice race at Chepstow on reappearance.  A mark of 105 looks a gift and the 3lbs taken off by Lizzie Kelly just adds to the attraction.

El Presente, (1330 Wincanton), 2/1:  a race mostly stacked with low grade or disappointing types in which Kim Baileys’ El Presente stands out a mile. Only a novice, but his comeback from injury was very impressive in a race that is working out superbly. Off that run he is easily a mid 130s horse with scope to improve, instead he retains his old mark of 124, and provided he avoids the dreaded bounce factor then he should win this with ease.

Humble Hero, (1405 Wincanton), 6/1:  was a progressive novice on a sound surface last year finishing with a close third in a top handicap at Sandown, on the heels of the second who has won the top notch Greatwood hurdle this season. Humble Hero was last in that race but soft ground at Cheltenham wouldn’t be his bag, and back on a sound surface and dropped in class he has a good chance of outclassing these rivals.

Motahassen, (1650 Southwell), 5/4:  returned to this Fibresand surface with a dominant win here last week.  Has a few recent winners to beat here, but the 5lb penalty is patently inadequate and he should follow up.
