NFL: Yankee Doodle Sunday…

With the regular season reaching it’s climax over the coming weeks, there are a mix of massive head-to-heads and low-key mismatches. All eyes will be on the Ravens v Bills, the 49ers v Saints and the Chiefs v Patriots, but the competitiveness of those fixtures make for tricky punting, We prefer a speculative first touchdown scorer Yankee exploiting some of the mismatch fixtures.

The Packers are finishing the season well in their fight with the Vikings for divisional top-dog. Green Bay host the hapless Redskins, and go-to man Aaron Jones can be expected to barrel over for the opener.

The Vikings need to keep up the pressure and have the advantage of hosting the back-pedalling Lions. Dalvin Cook has been the Vikings free-scoring running back both on the ground and with the play option, and he can score first.

The Houston Texans are in a dog-fight for their divisional title with the Titans and need to despatch the ordinary Denver Broncos to maintain a lead before home and away clashes with Tennessee. Expect them to get off to a flying start with QB Deshaun Watson loving nothing better than targeting wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and that combo can strike early.

Finally, the Tennessee Titans themselves need to maintain the heat by beating a free-falling Oakland Raiders outfit. Thundering running back Derrick Henry has been on fire in recent weeks and is now on the verge of heading the rushing stats. That includes 11 TDs and he can add to that total early here
