Champions League: Salah to stun Salzburg…

The return of the Champions League sees defending champions Liverpool travel to Austria to take on Salzburg needing at least a point to qualify for the knockout stages.

Liverpool currently top Group E but a defeat tonight combined with the likely victory for Napoli at home to Genk would in all likelihood see them knocked out of the competition.

The Reds haven’t been at their best in this competition so far this season, but they know what they have to do this evening and when asked this team has tended to deliver.

We think there will be goals in this game. The previous game between the two sides ended 4-3 at Anfield, while neither side has kept a clean sheet in this competition so far this season.

Mohamed Salah scored a brace in the first game and looked back to his best on the weekend after being rested midweek. We’ll take the Egyptian star to net twice today.

The late game sees Chelsea host Lille, needing to beat the weakest team in the group to progress.

Chelsea were disappointing in defeat to Everton on the weekend, but will be looking forward to this opportunity to put things right. They beat Lille 2-1 away from home earlier in the season, and will be confident of winning again.

Tammy Abraham has been Chelsea’s main goal threat this season, but his odds reflect this. Instead we’re going to side with Christian Pulisic. The American has plenty of experience in this competition and has been in fine form. We’ll take the 8/1 on offer that he scores twice.

Recommendations:

Salzburg/Liverpool: Salah to score twice, 1 pt, at 6/1, SkyBet

Chelsea/Lille: Pulisic to score twice, 1 pt, at 8/1, Paddy Power
