Monday Yankee: Golden opportunity…

The Daily Yankee

NAP OF THE DAY:   Golden Symphony, (1355 Naas), 1pt win, 6/1:

A few in this large field with scope to improve and Crack On Corrie is a worthy favourite.  But Golden Symphony may have the most scope after just two handicaps.  Her staying on sixth in a nice Fairyhouse race tempted a step up in trip last time, but aggressive tactics saw her fade late on into 4th.  Back down in trip and with her jockey claiming a crucial 7lbs she looks to have a big chance.

Baupame, (1425 Naas), 6/4:  on his fourth in the World Hurdle he’d be a class apart here.  The reason he isn’t odds on is the recent chasing debut flop.  But he jumped well there and just looked a bit undercooked when fading late on.  Worth trusting the Mullins genius to have him right now in which case the odds are a gift.

Muyam Spirit, (1500 Naas), 5/2:  some low level chase form to sift through here.  Conright Boy is well fancied on a mark well below his hurdles rating, but 10 going on 11 is pretty late to be taking up chasing.  Instead it seems more likely that the 5yo Muyam Spirit should have more scope to improve after a few fair recent runs.

Daphne Moon, (1530 Naas), 6/4:  was unfancied when running a fine third here on debut.  Repeated that run without necessarily progressing when 3rd again at Punchestown.  This looks by far her easiest test to day with an unraced Jessie Harrington filly the biggest danger.  A repeat of her two thirds would make for a win this time.
